Project Notes

Back when I started out as a woodworker, there was an appreciation for the control of the tools and an economic place for hand work. The touch and character of the wood drove the designs and the making. Nowadays, manufactured sheet goods dominate. They can't be worked by hand tools. Instead, the hand becomes the servant to electric motors and carbide cutters, only a replacement for computer-guided gantries and beds. I like to think I'm bringing that woodworker attitude to my digital projects, working with my hand tools to make the animations. Not that I'm going all Roy Underhill about it, but at times there might even be a turn with the hex editor.

Poolman Redux: The photos come from 2002. There are three screens. Each animation includes all nine images with a differnt set of morphing control points for each one.

Running Man Series: five screens riffing on the iconic running man animated gif from the mid 1990s. The primary navigation widget is in the upper left corner. On two screens, the main image is also a link. In one, the large gif reverses direction. In the second one, the small gif in the center returns back to the main menu.
